Vanderbilt disappointed at home last week in their first real test of the season vs. Alabama, and they must now cope with a balanced Rebels offense. Take the points.
[articleBanner]who2beton[/articleBanner]The Vanderbilt Commodores disappointed us as a home underdog last week, and we are leery about laying points with them here vs. an improved Mississippi Rebels team.
Although Ole Miss lost at home to Missouri last week, we feel that the effort was still encouraging, as the Rebels piled up an impressive 534 total yards of offense. They showed excellent balance, passing for 305 yards and rushing for 229, and anything close to that effort would be goof enough for an upset here vs. what may be an offensively challenged Vanderbilt squad.
The Commodores opened with a 41-17 win over an outmanned Richmond squad, but they failed their first real test vs. Alabama, and we do not see how they can keep pace here if the Rebels’ performance last week was not a mirage.
Struggling at home is nothing new for Vanderbilt, as they are now 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games in their own stadium, and a straight up Mississippi win here would not be surprising.
