The Sun Belt Conference takes center stage for Tuesday night college football as the Arkansas State Red Wolves square off against the Louisiana Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns. Get your Tuesday college football pick right here.

This is a fairly even matchup. However, the Cajuns will be eager to get back on the field after a sour defeat at the hands of an inferior North Texas squad that came up with 78 yard winning touchdown pass in the final 2 minutes of the game to cost ULL their second defeat of the season.

NCAA betting odds have Louisiana Lafayette as a luke warm 4 point favorite in a game that's basically up for grabs.

Quality and common opponents

Sports bettingIf you're thinking that this is a bettor’s delight on a mid-week day with no games, both teams appear to be better than their records indicate.

Arkansas State has faced Oregon and Nebraska and losing 57-34 against the Ducks is far from a thrashing. Louisiana Lafayette hasn't had quite the success as they were defeated by Oklahoma State 65-24. Both of these teams played Florida International University and won handily.

"Ragin" mad!

LA-Lafayette is coming off of a previous Tuesday game against a 2-4 North Texas team at the time and had a secure 20-6 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. Running back Antoinne Jammerson was the difference as his only two catches of the game, a 28 yard TD pass from Derek Thompson and more importantly a 78 yard TD pass from Thompson with 1:54 remaining in the game gave North Texas the victory. The Ragin’ Cajuns will need to shrug off a bad loss as the Arkansas State Red Wolves are coming off of two consecutive victories and possess the 24th best rushing attack in the nation.

Mixing up the pass and run

This is not necessarily the key to winning but even though LA-Lafayette doesn't excel at one particular facet of the game, they're well rounded, and that could be the key to victory in finding the best method for success.

Baton Rouge, LA native and sophomore quarterback Terrance Broadway, is coming off of his best game of the season by far. In the loss to North Texas, Broadway passed for 265 yards and 1 TD while rushing for 84 yards and a 1 TD. Broadway is the "go to guy" on this team. Although they have great depth on the rushing and receiving core, Broadway is the conductor that makes this train run.

A sick note?

UL-Lafayette's leading rusher Alonzo Harris was out last week due to an illness and some of the loss can be attributed to that. With Harris back in the lineup, the Ragin Cajuns will have no excuses tomorrow. Harris was coming off of a 123 yard, 1 TD game against Tulane and you can expect him to be effective as Arkansas State allows 28.9 points per game. This could be a high scoring affair.

Senior smarts

That along with solid offensive line play which has only allowed 9 sacks on the season, has allowed senior quarterback Ryan Aplin to throw for 1591 yards with 11 TD and 2 INT. This is a major improvement from the 16 INT's that Aplin threw last season.

Aplin is coming off of a victory in of South Alabama in where he had a season high 199.8 QB passer rating.

Triple threat

Along with being able to carry the football himself, Aplin has the luxury of having running back David Oku, who has a season high 7 TD's on the season, and when he decides to air it out, the combination of J.D. McKissic (46 receptions, 493 yards, 3 TD's) and Josh Jarboe (31 receptions, 321 yards, 3 TD) are his main targets as the next leading receiver on the team has 10 receptions. Nevertheless, this is a team that can matchup with LA-Lafayette and could catch the Ragin Cajuns at an opportune time after a bad loss.

Ragin' Cajuns are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record

Red Wolves are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings with LA-Lafayette

Not having Alonzo Harris last week really affected the Ragin' Cajuns as a team and they should feel rejuvenated having him back at home where they're undefeated. Look for LA-Lafayette to prevail in this tight matchup.
