Comments: Not very happy with Bowmans customer service. It''s like talking to a street bookie with the "you''re a gambler and you need me more than I need you" attitude. When I asked them for an update they told me they don''t give out scores. Then I called BoDog and asked for an update, they gave it to me instantly without even asking for my account #, well one time they did and I told them I was not registered yet but will soon, and they still gave me the scores. That is all I need from a bookie besides prompt payouts. As for the lines, they are the WORST lines you will ever see. I think sometimes they are monitoring the way I play. Like Miami(OH) is at -10 -107 in most books, Bowmans has ''em at -10.5. Last week Louisville was at -21/-21.5 and O/U 66, Bowmans had ''em at a whoping -22.5 and O/U 68.5 !!! The know I like favorites and the Over so they will take my fun out and by moving the lines up and charging me as much as they can.

Comments: All I have to say to Bowmans is: Keep rigging the cards, keep shaving customers' accounts overnight and you have A LOT coming to you... A LOT! A well deserved F. I have switched to a different sportsbook and will advertise these sportsbooks in Bowmans' own rigged Poker chat rooms. I hope Bowmans can see this. One person CAN bring down a business. Especially such a competitive business. I mean who charged extra fees just to be able to play with them? I'm not the one making the juice. Neither are any other customers. 'Nuff said.

Comments: Bowmans has a whole bunch of tactics, at the expense of the customer convenience to make sure the customer loses all his/her winnings before a withdrawal is made. You would have to send them a photo of your credit card (?), your driver''s license, phone bill, utility bill, and God knows what in order to have the "restriction" removed from your account that prevents you to make a withdrawal. But they will take your deposits right away. They don''t care if the card is stolen it''s not their problem. But that''s their excuse when it comes to making a living hell for you to retrieve your money. And then there is a fee to withdraw! How do you like that? The software keeps giving error messages, the casino and poker software get shut down randomly (and you lose the hand) and, every single card is controlled. If you see you have AK and the flop reads K-J-2 it''s because someone from Bowmans pressed "Ah, Kh" to you and then "Kd, Jc, 2s" for the flop. Don''t be surprised if your opponent reveals "Js, 2h", it''s not a coincidence, it''s because he works for Bowmans and they pressed "Js, 2h" after you put all your money in.

Comments: I've been wagering with Bowmans now since 1994, or 95, I can't remember because it's been so long. Needless to say, with the proliferation of other sportsbooks since that time, it is easy to find books with better lines and reduced vig. Bowmans has never really grown in that apsect of their business. The icing on the cake though was that I got my neighbour to open an account with Bowmans and low-and-behold, we logged on at the same time as I was showing him the ropes via telephone and guess what... BOWMANS DISHES OUT TWO SETS OF LINES... Square and Sharp lines. This profiling leaves a horrible taste in my mouth and whereas I would have continued using them, I have serious doubts about that now. Most of my wagering goes to two other books with better lines anyways now. Be forewarned...BOWMANS WILL PROFILE YOU. This is the basis of my overall D rating.

I want to know on what basis Bomwans got an A rating. The reviewers don't seem to agree. Even I can open up a sportsbook with a fancy software, good customer service, etc., and rob my customers blind when they enter my rigged Casino/Poker. Not even close to an A rating if you ask me. Bowmans is nothing less than theft and I was forced to forfeit my bonus after making a withdrawal.

The ratings our based primarily off of the sportsbook.  The ratings also include promtness of payouts and quality of CS.  We currently do not audit the casinos to test the fairness of play.

Comments:

An A is laughable for Bowmans. I can see lots of people have rated Bowmans pretty badly. My suggestion to SportsBookReview is to rate Bowmans realistically if they want to maintain any credibility on other sportsbooks because that's not only hurting SBR, it is hurting other sportsbooks that are pretty legit. I would honestly give Bowmans an F- and ask them to cut the BS on their electronic gaming. The bonuses are bogus (unless of course you are a big loser for the month), customer service will make you sign dozens of documents every 6 months, the software and site went down several times and even though payouts are prompt you really shouldn't trust a book that sucks out clueless customer's money on electronic gaming and poker, a game that you normally should play against other players, not robots.

Bowmans policy on who is eligible for thier bonuses, while not as lenient as some, is certainly far more lenient than others.  Players are always advised to call and confirm eligibility before depositing.

Comments: I truly like these guys sportsbook. They have great lines & parlay options. However my problem is with their casino. Its down right terrible. You can never win in blackjack. It seems like %85 of the time when you are down to your last hand on the table the dealer gets blackjack. Its not the software because I have used it at other online casinos that do not have unbeatable odds. Bowman's if you can just see how unfair your casino is your operation would be A- or better with me.

Comments: Au contraire, you DO have to promise losing when requesting for a Bonus. In response to SBR's response to my review: I made a deposit on Friday to request for a Bonus, they said that because my last cash transaction was a withdrawal (though it was a deposit for $0.50) I do not qualify for the Bonus. It would have to be a deposit. So ok... today I made a deposit and requested for their Reload Bonus as advertised. But I was told that because my total deposits do not exceed the amount I withdrwaled on the 1st of the month, I do not qualify for the Bonus. This goes against just about everything they advertised besides the fact that management may refuse a bonus for any reason whatsoever. They specified to me last time that there is no minimum to deposit in order to qualify for the Bouns. Also, they told me that the fact that I have a withdrawal for a high amount on my account, it "goes against me" for Bonuses. So there, Bowmans' Bonus is pretty much nil unless you lose money. You cannot win a get a Bonus at a same time. I rather win than get a bonus. P.S.: I have middled my ratings just not to be too harsh on Bowmans. You may void them towards your average if you like.

Comments: Wow I can't believe how many people beat me giving Bowmans a review. I don't know where to start. How would you rate a Sportsbook that litterally controls the cards being delt in its Casino/Poker? The software is cr@p, having to refresh several times sometimes before my account info comes up. Got booted out of poker tournaments several times and lost my stakes. And the worst... the cards are all fixed and will rob you blind once you run into a site bot. I cashed out and BAM! One hand after the other, set up atfer set up... A-Q set up vs. A-K, pocket QQ set up vs. A-2 and lost, countless pocket pairs running into bigger pairs, or, if smaller, still losing. I lost my shirt in their non-random garbage quality supposedly random Poker! I guess they get to abuse their credibility of A- over the years. Sort of like eBay and PayPal. Pretty sure the owner changed. . I heard they shave 0.01% of every customers' accounts during their "maintainance hour". Although nothing ever changes and the problems remain. But that's another issue. My message to SBR: STOP DEFENDING BOWMANS and do put a warning against them.

Comments:

I too agree that Sportsbookreview.com must be in THE TANK for Bowman's, which sadly makes me question their credibility across the board. I wrote SBR and broke down in plain English what Bowmans' does to winning players. Their nutty linesmaker Scott changes lines if you're winning too much (or even if you play their 'good lines' too much) and their csr people are instructed to be dishonest about it. I caught them twice. I told SBR but they blindly defended them. Stay away from Bowman's until they quit their deceptive bait n switch practices.

Some books offer "dual" lines.  i.e different players get different lines.  The books have that right, just as the players have the right not to bet a line they don't like.  What is important, is when a player bets and wins, the player must be paid.

Biggest frauds on the web! I wonder how much they are paying SBR to receive an A-. For bonuses you have to promise you will lose at least 4 times the amount before you withdraw, if not, no bonus. Customer service very rude and down-putting when you call in for whatsoever reason with a $0 balance. And the Poker... don't ever get me started. The cashout curse is very very real! I'm playing in a tournament and am the chip leader by 4 times the second place. And as soon as my winning game comes in, I lose AK to a K2 all in (Deuce hits). Then lose AQs (all-in) to 45s hitting flush. Then AK again to KQ hitting a Q and finally pocket QQ to pocket JJ hitting a J on the river. The odds of losing to a 3-outter is like 6%, the odds of 2 in a row is 0.36%. Yeah I sound like I'm complainning but have you ever seem anything like this? ONLY when you cash out/win you start getting set-up with monster hands and set-up you lose to bigger monsters.

The bonus requirement is that you have to roll your deposit + bonus 4 or 5 times depending on the bonus.  There is no requirement that you have to lose in order to keep the bonus.

Comments: Has to be the most RIGGED pokerroom in the web! DO NOT PLAY POKER ON BOWMANS! These crooks have stolen enough money from me and it's about time someone speak up. The cards are not random, they have shills/bots to rake in pots for the house. And when you play Poker after cashing out or win anything in the sportsbook they will come after you and tear your heart out! I have lost my last 5 tourneys with pocket AA.. FIVE! I have lost EVERY SINGLE coin flip and to the extent that when I had AK and flopped AA2, one player called all the way down with 48o and won with runner-runner. It''s not Poker! You play in the hope of them letting you win (punishing your opponent for cashing out). Just way too many runner-runners, too many 95%+ favored hands losing to miraculous draws that had no business being in the hand in the first place. Well that's considered a conspiracy for most people but how can ANYONE trust electronic, computer-generated cards? Their Sportsbook is fine but the Pokerrooms can''t be one bit legit!

Comments: Hello everyone in the gambling world. My name is brandon and I am writing on june 23 to share where I bet at, and that is bowmans. I've been with them for 10 years now, from 1995. They are very honest and helpful, they have the best staff I ever work with, and they try to help you the best way they can. Everyone should give them a try because it was one of the best places I ever been. From brandon, take care.

Comments: Hi, I would like to let you know that Bowmans have 2 sets of lines. One with good odds for what they consider "mug" punters, and another one with bad odds for what they consider professional players. If you think that a bookmaker who do this could be consider an A rate bookie, I reckon your rate system does not work very well. That tactic of offering two lines is more from a F rate bookie than from an A rate.

Comments: One thing I don't understand is why does Bowmans treats all our credit card deposits as "Cash Advances" and charges us a 2.5% fee? They are already making money on juice. I asked that question to them and they said it's because we are borrowing money. On the contrary, we are borrowing money from our own VISA and LENDING it to Bowmans. We give $100 to Bowmans before a single wager has been placed. Then if we lose, they keep it, if we win, we can withdraw it. Which brings me to my second point: The horror process of withdrawal. You'd have to send them all sort of documents through different means before you can make a withdrawal. Although they'll take your deposits right away without any verification. Every six months (or $5000) you'd have to fax (or scan) them about 10 pages of documents signed and dated. Asides from one free per month, withdrawals cost $20. That's a hefty fee to access your own money. Everytime I called to make a withdrawal/cash-out, the call lasted AT LEAST 15 minutes (or more) and I don't mean in the questioning, the waiting, holding and all... They create all kinds of incentives for customers not to make withdrawals. Bowmans is a decent sportsbook overall but they make it very hard for customers to access their own money. It's not like they won't pay, it's just that $20 is quite a lot of money just to be able to touch your own money more than once a month.

Comments:

I was extremely mistreated at customer service. They kept on rudely interupting me like a telemarketing sales pitch and the supervisor was worse; rude, harsh and thoroughly unpleasant. I was then told by SBR that this was likely an isolated incident. Payout: You'd have to go through a long horror "security standard process" before being eligible to cash out (send fax/scans of your credit card, driver's liscence, utility bill, picture ID, etc.) I did and it wasn't "clear enough" in their opinions. They claim this is to avoid credit card theft but they'll take your money right away when you deposit, no questions asked (they are unable to prevent "bad intentions"). And if the use of the credit card is unauthorized when depositing, guess what... they get to keep the money. You don't get no withdrawal unless you go through the horror process. But to be honnest I heard good comments from others on that site so... B-/C+. I am sure they are not crooks or have any malicious intentions with player's funds. The software/website is excellent but remember, it's the money that counts so be careful.

SBR NOTE 11/05/04 All players using credit cards should expect to fill out the non-chargeback agreement with most sportsbooks. All players using instant online methods, such as Neteller should expect same-day or sooner payouts.

Comments: Bowmans is a great site until you actually want to withdraw your money. If you use a credit card to deposit, be warned, there is an extremely frustrating process you must go through to get your cash. If you had any bonuses applied, you have to wager at least 5X your bonus AND deposit before you can withdraw one penny! And if you used a credit card, you need to send them a copy of your credit card, your drivers license, and a utility bill to register your credit card. Scary stuff, all hidden deep within their website. They''ll take your money right away, but will make you jump through hoops to get any back. Be warned.
