VipBetZone's scam was first identified by SBR in 2004. The book closed with player funds for good in 2005 before owners opened other deposit-only blacklisted scam books such as BetNowOnline, GoWagers, SelectWagering and BetGateway. MyMoneyCashier, which stiffed multiple books, was operated by Gabriela who handled accounting at VIPBetZone. Gabriela is the sister of VBZ owner, Mauricio, who is the administrator listed for websites affiliated with the missing financial processor.
05.07.2006 (11:41 PM CST)Two more players report receiving sums in the amount of stolen BetGateway (SBR rating F-) balanaces from Bet4Aces (SBR rating D-). Those with a claim against Gateway should contact SBR.
03.15.2006 (04:43 PM CST)SBR meets with Bet4Aces(SBR rating D-); discusses affiliation with BetGateway. Edward, part of Bet4Aces ownership, tells SBR that they will take responsibility for its association with SCAM sportsbook BetGateway and settle all delinquent accounts. Edward assures SBR that Bet4Aces will "right this wrong" and contends that he is operating a legitimate sportsbook. Ownership acknowledges that the company was built on BetGateway’s platform, that they utilized the same servers and equipment, and employed a Gateway manager, but is adamant that the company was purchased and is controlled by new ownership. Edward went on to say that Gateway manager, Henry, is no longer with Bet4Aces and noted that Bet4Aces is in the Torre del Este building and not in the Law Offices of Mauricio Gomez like past reincarnations of VipBetZone scam sportsbooks. 02.28.2006 (08:48 PM CST)BetGateway(SBR rating F-) victims frustrated as they learn this scam sportsbook exists under new name, Bet4Aces.
Player writes: "First i was able to log in to bet4aces using the login info from betgateway and i saw my balance of 585$. i open the chat with edward and ask for cashout..first he said ok and after few days i chat with him again but this time he said " its not me who you talked with" and i was unable to log in to the account again."
Bet4Aces claims it purchased Gateway’s system without knowledge of the debt owed to players. The claim is made despite the fact that Bet4Aces is located in the same building as Gateway, uses same members of management as Gateway, and has full access to BetGateway’s player database. SBR has offered to assist Bet4Aces in settling delinquent accounts and Bet4Aces recently paid one player $60,000 of the $120,000 balance accrued while using BetGateway.com.
02.07.2006 (11:14 AM CST)Bet4Aces(SBR rating F-) owner delivers $60,000 cash payment to player who has been owed $120,000 for over five months by BetGateway(SBR rating F-). Edward, owner of Bet4Aces, claims he purchased BetGateway’s facilities and inherited its staff but was unaware of the large debts to players.
Bettors should expect to receive their funds via the listed methods on the sportsbook’s banking page. SBR advises players not to engage in person to person transactions and to stick with sportsbooks who operate professionally and according to their stated procedures.

FirstClassSportsbook(SBR rating F-), BetGateway(SBR rating F) and SSP International(SBR rating F) each decided that their scams have run their course. Players should be aware of reincarnations or sister sites of these phony bookmakers. BetGateway now operates as Bet4Aces(SBR rating F-) and is cold calling potential players. FirstClassSportsbook’s sister site, PlayersTime(SBR rating F) steals player’s $19,000 balance. Substantial balances are at high risk. Both books focus their maketing efforts on off-line advertising and on bettors who are less likely to be aware of their unscrupulous actions.

BetGateway has been off-line for two days and active players are now being asked to log in at Bet4Aces and use Bet4Aces’ Neteller merchant account. This is the latest scam site from former VIPBetZone (SBR rating F-) owership.

08.27.2005 (10:19 PM CST)Problem sportsbook, BetGateway (SBR rating F+) to gamble with player funds once again. Gateway entered the 2004 NFL playoffs admittedly broke and unable to pay their clients for months. Management told players that an employee had stolen their money and told SBR that the fate of player funds depended on the book’s success during the last few NFL games. Fortunately, the end of the NFL season was profitable for the house and Gateway players reported receiving payments. New SBR readers have since inquired about this sportsbook and their generous offers after receiving promotional email. Players can expect this sportsbook’s luck to eventually run out. Gateway’s high risk model consists of offering -105 pricing and large bonuses.
Note: Gateway has been upgraded from F- to F+ to reflect payment on delinquent accounts.

One player reports his $11,500 has been deleted from his Gateway account. This book has been in slow-pay mode since the beginning of football season.

02.01.2005 (11:49 PM CST)No-pay complaints continue to come from players at scam sportsbooks. BetGateway (SBR rating F) is hoping to stay afloat with a profitable Super Bowl. More players are reporting denied withdrawal requests yet the book continues to offer large bonuses on new deposits. New BetEmpire (SBR rating F-) and sister book WorldWager (SBR rating F-) complaints emerge. Management is attempting to void out winnings on multiple large account balances. They claim that if the betting odds had changed soon after a bet was placed it was the sportsbook’s error and a "bad line" which nullifies the wager. The book is applying this made-up rule to months of graded wagers. One player did report reaching a settlement with WorldWager and has received payment.
Update 2/26/05: BetEmpire management tells SBR that they are no longer involved with WorldWager and that BetEmpire is a seperate operation. BetEmpire has its own mangement team in place but is under the BetUS (SBR rating F+) brand.

The sportsbook claims they are currently unable to process payout requests because their customer service manager has stolen their bankroll. BetGateway employees are not currently collecting a paycheck and the rent payment is past due. Gateway tells SBR that "the investors will make a decision on what to do" based on how the book performs in the next two weeks. Payments will not be processed before then, if at all.

This small sportsbook offers excessive signup incentives and is a prime example of a book that would have trouble staying afloat if players continue to beat the house. Players should stay with sportsbooks rated B+ or higher who realize that bookmaking is a long term investment.
