02.02.2009 (07:27 PM CST)A player deposited at Betfred (SBR rating B-). He made wagers in an attempt to earn a freeplay. The player was awarded the £50 freeplay promotion and won £1000 as a result.
Bet £10 or more (excluding free bets) on your NEXT five bets (bets 2, 3 ,4 ,5 & 6) and you will receive an extra £50 free bet. Please note that all 5 individual bets must be £10 or more and placed on different selections in order to qualify for the second part of the free bet offer. Void bets do not qualify
BetFred then determined that the player did not qualify for the freeplay, because one of the player's prior bets was "non-qualifying" for the bonus. BetFred stated that the freeplay was awarded in error and that it overlooked that one of the wagers was the same as a wager already placed. The sportsbook removed the freeplay winnings from the player's account and has refused to speak with SBR on the matter. The player had the funds available to make the same play on his own.
