Shilbet SCAM: Evidence of fraud mounts
SBR received complaints from 19 players against Shilbet (SBR rating F) complaining of widespread fraud and balance confiscations. The first wave of complaints occurred after the June 10th, 2009 soccer match between Ecuador and Argentina. Shilbet offered odds of 4.0 on Ecuador, and did not lower the odds as the rest betting market moved against them. Multiple players bet on Ecuador at 4.0, and won their wagers. When Ecuador won the match 2-0. Shilbet changed the winning wagers of twelve players to a losing halftime bet on Ecuador (the halftime score was 0-0). Of the eight players that confirmed risk amounts, $10,438 in winnings were stolen.

SBR also received three complaints on the grading of the June 18, 2009 match between England and Spain (under 19). All three players complained that their wagers were changed from full game to first half wagers, resulting in winning wagers becoming losers. Two of the players had $900 in winnings stolen (with the third player’s amount in question).

SBR received several complaints about the grading of tennis matches. Several players bet on the June 24, 2009 tennis match between Schiavone and Larcher de Brito. The player backed Schiavone, but after the match the wager was changed to Larcher (making it a losing wager). The player provided screen shots of the altered wager here. As a result of this switch, the player lost $1,550. Another player complained of his winning wager being changed to a losing one on the June 24, 2009 tennis match between Dushevina and Vesnina (the amount has not been verified). Supporting screen shots were included in the Shilbet discussion thread here .

SBR received seven complaints that Shilbet closed a player’s account for “violating their rules,” and then confiscated the balances. $10,015 was confiscated from five of these players (two have not yet provided the amounts stolen). No further explanation was given to the players, and Shilbet is not responding to player emails. Shilbet initially stated that players were simply making errors and were mistaken on how their software worked. Shilbet stopped responding to SBR after the complaints and evidence against Shilbet accumulated.

10Bet (SBR rating C) credits player for cancelled wager shortly after SBR contacted management. The bettor's complaint was originally reported on June 11th.
10bet sportsbook has cancelled a winning wager
10bet sportsbook has cancelled a winning wager on a Mexican League baseball game between the Yucatan Lions and Oaxaca Warriors on 5/24/09. 10bet claims that the game had started 30 minutes prior to its own listed start time of 00:00AM UK (01:00AM CET). The player disputes the game was past-posted and points out that he also placed the same wager at Pinnacle Sports (SBR Rating A+) which listed the same start time. Pinnacle Sports graded the bet as a win. The wager ticket was not graded for three days before being cancelled.  The player has sent multiple emails to 10bet without receiving a response. Players who wagered on the same game on either team and had their bets canceled are encouraged to contact SBR.

Shilbet (not rated) players submit screenshots suggesting Shilbet has purposely graded wagers wrong.Shilbet Since the Shilbet report on June 17th SBR has received multiple complaints of winning wagers graded as half time losing bets. SBR concluded that Shilbet, at minimum, fails to properly label wagering options and wagering tickets. Shilbet has threatened both SBR and its players with legal action in attempt to minimize the exposure of negative feedback.

I placed bets on the 4.0 Quote in Equador (Game Equador X Argentina)Total bets in Equador: $405. Equador won 2-0 so I win $1620.They don´t pay saying that the odd was for haft time result and i should pay more atention. As I never had any problem with them I belived that was my mistake. A few days later the same happen in the game Spain U21 X England, but in this game I'm sure that the odds were for full time and complain with then... two days later they put the money in my account. Last friday i decided to withdraw some money from my account and they don´t pay. I have try several times to withdraw money and don´t receive nothing (they usually make payments in a few hours after request). Today I receive an email saying that my withdraw request was rejected. My account balance is $1075,50. And I also want that they pay me the $1620 from the game Equador X Argentina. This money is mine they are literally stilling my money!

Player:
On my email of shilbet.com answered:
"About your inquire, the bet was placed on half time result and not full time result, therefor the outcome is correct.
You can see it for yourself in your "My sent forms" section, just click on the event and you will see two number under the notes section, 2 and 8. 2 means 3way bet and 8 means half time result bet."

But when I did bet there was not 8! Shilbet.com changed my wager too in the same manner, from full time result to half time result, making my winning wager lose. Help me please to get my winning, or the expended money.

Oddsmaker.com steals $8,500 in winnings from player
In May of 2009 a player accepted a promotion offering $500 in free bets with a five time (5x) roll over (play-through) on his winnings that could not be withdrawn for 30 days. The player went on a winning streak and promptly turned the $500 in free plays into an $8,400 cash balance. The player told his father about the promotion. The father pursued the free-play from his residence in a different town but was denied due to the sportsbook targeting only specific bettors. The winning player was told that his winnings from the promotion will not be paid due to Oddsmaker (SBR rating D-) taking issue with the fact that he shared the promotion with a third party without authorization. SBR has made its position clear that the matter of a third party's inactive account is not relevant to his winnings. Oddsmaker has confirmed the facts of the player's complaint and stated they will not pay him his May winnings because he "lied" about being authorized to refer others to the promotion and was "rude and arrogant" to the Oddsmaker.com staff.

Due to Oddsmaker's poor reputation they are required to target players with big bonuses who may be uneducated about the industry. SBR routinely receives complaints from players who are lucky enough to go on a winning run only to find the sportsbook has created a reason to deny winnings. Oddsmaker partnered with no-pay scam group Futurebet, now known as IGaming Software (IGS), in 2007. After Futurebet stiffed the majority of its licensee (turnkey) sportsbooks and kept its player deposits, it changed its brand name and website from Futurebet.com to IGamingSoftware.com. Shortly before it stole licensee and player funds it made Oddsmaker and BetOnUSA (SBR rating D-) its main revenue sources. IGS staff denies association with Futurebet despite the obvious signs such as site similarities, management, and using the same unique server. SportsbookUSA (SBR rating F), was the one licensee owned by Futurebet and continues to operate as a deposit-only sportsbook site. | Oddsmaker discussion

Players vs. Shilbet
Two players from sportsbook, Shilbet (not rated), complain that the sportsbook graded their full-game bets as 1st half losing wagers. On June 10th, Shilbet offered wagering on the Ecuador vs. Argentina soccer game. Odds history logs show that Shilbet offered full-game odds of +300 on Ecuador, +210 on the draw, and -143 on Argentina. At least two players had wagers on Ecuador at +300, believing it to be a game wager. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime, and Ecuador won the game 2-0. The players now see that half time result had been applied to their wagers on the full game. SBR has begun discussing the matter with Shilbet.
Shilbet claims that "In certain occasions we pick unconventional odds in order to attract players". SBR notes that Betfair (SBR rating A+) had odds on a first-half draw at +108, and finds Shilbet's explanation for the line being for the full game is unlikely for multiple reasons. 1. It was offering +210 on a first half draw - nearly double the market price; and 2. Both players and odds tracking sites would have had to misinterpret first-half odds as full-game odds. Shilbet's software does not note if wagers are on periods of games or full games.

On June 3rd the player accepted $800 toward his balance via Moneygram.  LasPalmas cited problems with bank wires as reason for the continued delay. Fernando, who was only in his mid 50s, was best known by players for his years as Lines Director at Hollywood Sportsbook. Fernando was a talented line manager who first gained notoriety for his exceptional ability to set NHL opening odds. He worked with Hollywood for years until the sportsbook was sold to the Sportsbook.com Group in May of 2006. At its peak Hollywood was an A+ sportsbook that, under Fernando, was one of the few sportsbooks to join Pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) offering reduced juice.  Fernando was a line manager at BetPhoenix at the time of his passing. Defunct Apex Sportsbook (SBR rating F) back online
Apex websites, ApexSportsbook.com and ApexSportsbetting.com, return online five years after closing and stiffing players. The Apex websites were utilized as handicapping and betting tips sites by Apex owner, Robbie, AKA Zach, marketed his new sportsbook ventures including his next sportsbook operation Bet33 (SBR rating F). ApexSportsbook is now one of many skins running on the Bet33 platform. Bet33, and even some players, have argued that the sportsbook should not have an F rating because the book has been online over three years and has not had any payout complaints filed against it. Bet33, its sister sites, and it's pay per head service, Realbookie.com, were built using the stolen funds from the original Apex Sports customers. Robbie has been asked multiple times in recent years to consider repaying his former customers.

Dimeline then cancelled the withdrawal as the player refused to retract his statements. The player has been locked out of his account. SBR has verified the player's report with DimeLine. The player is hopeful the sportsbook will again process his payment tomorrow and put an end to the unprofessional behavior. | Player on DLS

Dimeline Sports Update: Bonus and winnings confiscations
Three players originally filed complaints that the sportsbook had confiscated bonuses and winnings. The sportsbook pointed to the fact that the players, though they wagered over $100,000 and had their limits lowered, were not recreational and were undeserving of their deposit bonuses. The end result was removal of bonus funds while being forced to complete the rollovers that accompanied the promotions. If the players refused to continue wagering they were told their winnings "from the bonuses" would be withheld. The confiscations went on to effect seven players who all elected to bet their money per management instead of giving up a portion of their winnings. DimeLine Sports now has a history of holding funds hostage and treating players unfairly.

GoldVictory no-pays continue; LGA of Malta states it is taking legal action
GoldVictory (SBR Rating F) players continue to report no-pay complaints to SBR. The F rated sportsbook currently owes over a reported $100,000 in player funds. The Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta (LGA) stated that legal action has been taken against a director of Gold Victory Limited. The criminal proceedings are to take place in the Maltese Law Courts.

“Please note that one of the Directors of Gold Victory Limited is currently facing criminal proceedings in the Maltese Law Courts. The Lotteries and Gaming Authority feels that any further statements on its part could compromise the current legal proceedings, hence it will not comment pending the resolution of the court case. Once the proceedings are decided the Authority will be in a position to update the public with the developments of the case.”

Players should be aware that the involvement of the LGA and legal proceedings may not have any impact on their cases. The LGA was unable to assist when Maltese-licensed BetChance (SBR Rating F) stiff many of their players and BetChance remains in operation.

GoldVictory has ceased taking action on any wagers and displays the following message on their website:

EZBets (SBR rating D-) sportsbook voids $2,727 winning wager
EZbets voided a winning wager on the 4th quarter of a Denver Nuggets Basketball game. EZbets and the Sportsbook.com Group which services it, routinely offers NBA wager before each quarter. Management at EZbets says the wager was listed incorrectly, referencing the third quarter which was already completed:
Nuggets4Q
Trailblazers3Q
The player questions what the result would have been if his wager had lost. Player:

I placed a wager on the 4th quarter Nuggets vs Trailblazers OVER 48 (Bet ID 279316418)Risking $3000 to win $2727.27. The wager was graded as NO ACTION although the line was correct and posted after the end of the 3rd quarter. They claim the line was incorrect and posted as:
xxxNuggets4Q
xxxTrailblazers3Q
I have also lost wagers on the same game 1st half, 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter. ALL were graded as losing wagers for a total of about $4000 (they claim that all these wagers was posted correctly). Although it was posted as xxxTrailblazers3Q, the line was intended to be for the 4th quarter as there is the xxx in front of Trailblazers, also the time frame indicates that this wagers was for the 4th quarter total. If it was for the third quarter, it would have said xx instead of xxx as it was on my 3rd quarter wager which said xx. These guys know exactly that this should have been graded as a winning wager, but just deny it. They are the most dishonest sportsbook ever. this happened also several times with me grading winning wagers as NO ACTION IN THE PAST claimimg that it was a past posted, specially with the wagers to win a big amount of money. Sister books, Sportsbetting.com, Racebook, and Win4Real confiscate player's winnings and deposits
The player opened accounts at all three sportsbooks in June of 2008, depositing and playing consistently for five months. In November his accounts, which showed a profit of approximately $20,000, were frozen. The sportsbook cited a rule saying the player could only have an account at one sportsbook in the Sportsbetting.com Group. SBR has advised the sportsbook to pay the player for all wagers it booked  since the player's funds were at risk. Bookmakers should have the ability to limit a player's action but should not retroactively void winning bets. Thus far Sportsbetting
(SBR rating C-)Win4Real (SBR rating C-) and Racebook (SBR rating C-) have not agreed to pay the player for winning wagers, or even the winnings on the first of the three accounts joined. $9,500 in player deposits remain in possession of the sportsbook without an explanation, six months after closure. Evebet (not rated) voids player's four month old winning futures wager
I placed a bet on 12th January, 2009 for £200 at odds 2.60 on Manchester United to win the English Premier League (Soccer).
At the time they were quoting the best odds on the market for this and to be honest the odds quoted were quite generous but not ridiculously so.
The market was decided 24 hours ago in my favour and I should have seen returns of £520 to my account.
However, to my amazement the bet was cancelled immediately upon the result being known and the £200 stake returned to my balance.
If they feel they made an error on the line they should have cancelled it at the time but we are talking 4 months ago when placed.
The bet ID is 563XXX - for some reason in the text of the bet it shows Sunderland v Tottenham as well as Soccer - League Winner - Manchester United at 2.6 but this is just a transposed piece of text which happens on their site, I don't know why.
I also placed a bet on Real Madrid in March to win the Spanish League at odds 7.00 which was also decided yesterday - this bet was a loser and the odds for this were again slightly generous at the time but, unsurprisingly , this was treated as a lost bet.
SBR has emailed Evebet asking why it has not honored the wager or credited the player for winnings at what it believes to be the correct market price. The player also complained that Evebet has not answered his emails on the matter.

BetCities and IrishGambling enter SBR Rating Guide at F
The sportsbooks are on a platform and turnkey service called GameCities. Gamecities is a sub-licensee of Futurebet. On Thursday SBR reported that a BetCities player was robbed of his winnings. New victims are likely to come forward. SBR will investigate the small sportsbook company host and index related sportsbooks in the SBR rating Guide. GameCities tries to make money by offering a poor sportsbook product to website owners. After they sell the setup and service to new "sportsbook owners" support may stop or is very poor. Its parent company uses the same scam on larger players and has robbed its webmasters leaving them unable to pay their players. | Fake testimonials from Gamecities.com:

Canbet canceled 27 correlated NCAA football parlays on different games; downgraded to C+
SBR has discussed the case numerous times with management in recent months. Canbet states that their software has never accepted correlated parlays where the point spread exceeds 33% of the total, and that the string of bets were accepted due to "operator error." Management also stated they believe the player was aware of this as he bet more than his average stake size and also deposited larger amounts to take advantage of these plays. Canbet:
Parlays should not have been offered on this game and were only offered on this game due to operator error. Company policy is to only offer such parlays when the point spread is roughly a third or less of the points total. The fact that the bets were not voided until after the match does not alter the fact that the parlays were accepted in error in the first place. Agreed, it is certainly not normal practice to detect such bets until after the event. Again, through operator error these bets were not detected prior to grading the event.
Canbet cites a rule that it claims supersedes the fact that the software allowed the wagers and graded them after the player's funds had been risked.
In the event that a line or price is put up in obvious error due to a human error by an employee, any customer wagers entered to take advantage of such error will be void.
The most applicable rule Canbet has for these wagers suggests that they were valid bets that are allowed.
Any multiple made up of more than one selection from the same event will be deemed a related contingency. i.e. Alan Shearer to score 1st & Newcastle Utd to win; Denver -7.5 pts and Denver to win the game. The only exception to the above is in North American sports where sides and totals can make up a multiple bet.

Canbet will remain under review as this and other disputes are discussed further and more is learned about Canbet's impending migration to its new platform and management. International All Sports Ltd. sold Canbet last week to Yin Khing Investments Ltd. IASbet's rating will also be reviewed. | IASbet Ltd: Canbet press release

BetCities (not rated) confiscates player's winnings
BetCities tells the player that it has decided not to service players from Greece and has retroactively voided his account activity. The player had won 297 Euros before being told his winnings would be confiscated and his deposit returned to him. BetCities has processed ten withdrawals to this player in the past.
Our company has made a new decision in which we are unable to process any transactions and will not be accepting any players from your geographic location. Bet1128 (SBR rating D+) Confiscation update: On October 28, 2008 SBR reported that a group of Bet1128 players had their winnings confiscated. SBR reviewed the dispute and stated that Bet1128 should pay the five complaining players their full winnings and confiscated deposits, totaling over $100,000. Bet1128 refused. The players brought their complaints to IBAS, an arbitration service advertised on Bet1128's homepage. IBAS ruled in favor of the players, stating that Bet1128 should pay full the balances on each account. One player has subsequently asked for his $34,000 balance. Bet1128 has thus far offered to pay him in installments of only $5,000 per week.

Player vs. Win4Real (SBR rating C-)
Win4Real offered a proposition wager on the total amount of free throws made by NBA basketball player, Aaron Brooks, in a single game. The player took the under on a total set of 2.5 free throws made. Aaron Brooks played in the game and did not make or attempt a free throw. The wagering ticket provided by the player shows only the stipulation that the player must play. Win4Real, a sportsbook in the Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C-) Group, gave an illogical response to the player's complaint:
As per the update from our Grading department, the Free Throws under 2.5 indicates that Aaron Brooks should at least score below 2.5 but not zero(Under 2.5 indicates that the score must be less than 2.5 and Zero is not considered under 2.5).
You must have notice that Aaron Brooks did not score the Free Throws, which indicates that the score is Zero and hence the bet has been graded as Noaction.
SBR has inquired with management on the player's behalf. Bettors who were not paid on a bet of under on the total free throws by Aarron Brooks are invited to contact SBR.

On May 6th Mansion88 canceled a bettor's winning wager for 400 Pounds ($680 USD)  on an NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic two days after the event. The sportsbook claims that it had listed the wrong year, 2050, in the game time. The player was not notified of the cancellation until he asked why the bet had not been graded two days after the wager won. SBR will contact Mansion88 on the player's behalf. SBR received four complaints that Canbet (SBR rating B+) is changing bonus terms and amounts after players accept and invest in the offers. Canbet has been downgraded from A- to B+ and will be reevaluated following further discussion with management.

Player:
I telephoned Canbet a month ago just to check on the progress of wagering on my account and was informed by them that the terms and conditions of the bonus have changed - they have reduced the bonus to £160.00 from £200 and have advised me that i have to wager more than on the promo i signed up to.  Essentially they are saying that i can have a lesser bonus (£160 instead of £200) and that i have to wager more than i originally thought.

Player: I've been caught up in the Canbet bait-and-switch of applying new terms retrospectively to existing bonuses. I have a £20 bonus I wish to withdraw, claimed several months ago under the old terms (straight forward rollover of deposit and bonus a few times). I've completed more than the original wager requirement required, yet I still have the bonus locked into my account, thanks to the new terms requiring all cash balance to be lost before the bonus is usable.  Speaking to live chat they were adamant they could change the terms of existing bonuses as they wished

DimeLine Sportsbook (SBR rating D+) confiscating winnings and bonuses from winning players
Dimeline offered exorbitant bonuses up to 100% with a limit of $2,000 that attracted players in a UK-focused betting forum. The four players to report to SBR wagered well over six figures. The sportsbook took notice of the play and lowered their betting limits. After the players continued to win, their accounts were frozen. The sportsbook claimed that using a line comparison service, similar to SBRlines.com, made the players nonrecreational and ineligible for the bonus given. Dimeline's line manager labeled bets on their soft lines (lines that are late to update along with betting market leaders such as Bookmaker (SBR rating A+) and Pinnacle (SBR rating A+) ) as "steam plays." Three of four of these players came from the same website but are unique accounts that have wagered from their individual locations. DLS has proposed paying the players half of their winnings rationalizing that they had double the funds to work with at the start of the account. All bonuses, despite amount rolled over, will be removed. Four Dimeline players had their accounts disabled and over $36,000 has been frozen since late April and early May. Dimeline was downgraded from C- to D+ and will be downgraded further if the book maintains its decision not to honor all winnings. Dimeline has been dowgraded from C- to D+ | View player's report

Totesport vs. Player: IBAS finds in favor of sportsbook
On 1/29/2009  SBR reported on a player's ToteSport complaint. The sportsbook had changed the player's winning wager, making it a losing bet.
Totesport (SBR rating B-) gives player wager he did not place
On January 17, 2009, a player wagered 125 Sterling on Wolverhampton +1 goal at the price of +433. After Wolverhampton covered, he found an email from Totesport telling him there was an "input error," commonly referred to as a "bad line" when talking about American sports. As a result of this "error" Totesport reversed the spread, changing his winning wager into a losing one. Totesport's terms and conditions allow it to adjust prices, but not spreads. When confronted with this fact by the player, it would not cite a rule allowing it to take this action. Totesport would not discuss the issue with SportsbookReview.
IBAS reviewed the dispute between the player and Totesport, and ruled in favor of Totesport. In its ruling, IBAS did not consider whether Totesport's rules allow it to alter the spread in a pending wager. IBAS states it is an independant third party organization servicing the UK gambling industry. IBAS stands for Independent Betting Adjudication Service. | IBAS Opinion

Racebook (SBR rating C-) tells Sportsbook Review it has returned $1,000 in confiscated funds to player. The refund represents a deposit made to Racebook.com in 2008. The sportsbook originally told the player that the funds were not returned because he broke the rule of having more than one account within the Sportsbetting.com Family of sportsbooks. The player had accounts at sister books Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C-) and Win4Real (SBR rating C-) that were in good standing and inactive. SBR is seeking more information on why the deposit was not initially returned and if there were other non-bonus funds in the account. SBR will reassess Sportsbetting.com after pursuing further details from the company.

Sportsbook.com Group management provides wagering ticket to resolve two month old Iwager (SBR rating D-) dispute. The sportsbook initially refused to allow the player or SBR to view the wagering ticket for a deleted winning wager. Iwager claimed the wager was on a betting offer that should have expired when the game began while the player insisted that he wagered on an in-game bet. The wagering ticket shows it was not an in-game bet and was justly canceled by the sportsbook because the bet was placed well after the game was underway.

Racebook (SBR rating C-) confiscates player funds
The player deposited $1,000 and won an additional $200. Racebook has confiscated his deposit and winnings citing their terms and conditions which state that accounts at more than one Sportsbetting.com Group book are not allowed. The player states that his accounts at Sportsbetting.com and Win4Real are in good standing and are inactive. Racebook.com's betting limits were not exceeded. Win4Real (SBR rating C-) and Racebook.com (SBR rating C-) confiscate player's deposits
The sportsbook management states it applied the punishment after the player's limits were lowered at a third book in the family, Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C-). The bettor had an account at Sportsbetting.com, had his betting limits reduced, and subsequently deposited and won at both Win4Real and Racebook. The player was aware that he could make similar bets at Win4Real and Racebook and placed the same wagers for different amounts at all three sportsbooks in a three day period. The amount risked per play exceeded the limit given to him at Sportsbetting.com. SBR has asked Sportsbetting.com to return the player's deposits of $800. SBR's position is that the sportsbook should not benefit from the player's actions.
The Sportsbetting.com family of books currently has a rule stating that only one sportsbook within the book's family can be utilized. SBR will address the secondary issue of if the sportsbook had this rule in place when the player made these deposits. He won $6,400 in wagers that were not honored. Under normal circumstances a sports betting company with multiple brands is expected to honor all wagers before identifying a player it does not want to service at its sportsbooks.

SportsInteraction, also referred to as SIA, has agreed to reassess its position on three cases SBR previously addressed with management almost two years ago. The most recent complaint involves a case of winnings confiscation, reported in July of 2007. SportsInteraction has since allowed SBR to assist with its terms of service and rules in an effort to avoid similar disputes in the future. SIA players have submitted positive feedback over the last year and have argued that the SBR rating of D+ is too low. SBR will reevaluate SportsInteraction after these disputes are addressed once again. Players with a complaint or feedback are invited to contact SBR.

HeroesCasino (SBR rating C-) tells SBR they have a backlog of payout requests. The new sportsbook states that many of their casino players requested their funds after their casino software provider ended its relationship with the sportsbook, leaving the book in search of a new casino product. The business relationship ended after a player was accused of cheating the casino by using tools to count cards. HeroesCasino blames the account verification process as reason for the delay and says that all withdrawals will be processed in the order they are received. SBR currently has five slow-pay reports. Heroes is unable to give players an estimate for when they will receive payment. SBR will monitor payout requests closely.

Scam Alert: Beware of SBGglobal (SBR rating D-) Kentucky Derby Bonus Offers
SBG Global is emailing players with deposit bonus offers of up to $6,000. The offers that seem to good to be true, might be. SBG recently stole players' winnings on the Formula 1 World Championships. Players made valid wagers on a driver at 70-1 that were canceled and replaced with an offer of the same bet at odds of even money. Offering high odds on future bets without the intention of honoring the wager is a common scam. It allows a sportsbook to take a lot of action on an event and upsetting only a small percentage of those who wagered on the race.

10bet blamed a loss of internet connection in its office for taking wagers on outdated lines in live snooker betting. Line management states they needed to change the wagers to reflect the updated game status but could not. Live betting errors are not uncommon due to high volume of opening and closing of markets within an event. 10bet states the payout on the line was roughly four times higher than it should have been.

Gold Victory (SBR rating D+) states it is unable to fill four week-old withdrawal requests. SBR has been contacted by 14 players concerned that they have not yet been paid by GoldVictory.com. Five of these players submitted withdrawal requests in the first few days of March. The second group emailed SBR complaining that they have not received information on withdrawal requests submitted mid-March. GoldVictory.com lists payout times at 48 hours for Neteller and Moneybookers, the e-wallet methods used by all who submitted complaints. Alternate payout methods have not been offered.  SBR has contacted Gold Victory multiple times this month but the book has not addressed its current issues as it has in the past. Gold Victory told some players via email that a "backlog" in withdrawal requests was the reason behind the delay. The vague response leaves players wondering if some type of administrative action is delaying the processing of payment or it the sportsbook simply does not have the funds in its e-wallets. Moneybookers and Neteller can be normally be processed instantly by books servicing only non-US players.  The sum of money owed to these players is over 15,000 euros. GoldVictory also owns Martial Arts betting site, Kickbets (SBR rating D+).

Gold Victory's standard response to players:
Thank you for your email.  Please note that at the moment we are still caught up with a backlog of requests, which we are trying to process as soon as possible. We will inform you via email when your payment has been released. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Players report BetUS and Tout collaborating on Scam: SBR investigates
Sportsbettingchamp.com,  a website promoting pro capper, John Morrison and the "John Morrison Chase Betting System”, is working with BetUS (SBR rating C-) to scam players.

How the scam works: When players sign up with BetUS through the Sportsbettingchamp.com website, BetUS identifies that player as a “Chase system” referral. When that player wants to make a play released by the tout, BetUS deals a unique, higher-priced line on that game for that specific player. It is similar to a grocery store changing price tags after they find out what you were sent to purchase.

For example, on March 23, 2009, the “Chase system” told the players to bet on the Los Angeles Clippers. BetUS and most books were offering a spread of +15 for this game. Most BetUS players, including those referred to BetUS through other professional handicapper websites received the fair line of +15. Players who were referred to BetUS from the Sportsbettingchamp's website were offered a line of +13.5.

Other recent examples of dealing inflated lines only to the tout’s subscribers include:
March 7, 2009: Golden State Warriors +6 (vs +8)
March 3, 2009: Toronto Raptors +6.5 (vs +8)
March 1, 2009: Toronto Raptors +4.5 (vs +6)
February 24, 2009: Charlotte Hornets +5.5 (vs +7)

In every case, the alternate line is only on games released by the tout, and always hurts the player following paying for the pick. The BetUs customer essentially pays much more than he or she realizes.  BetUS’s tactic of moving the line against these players means that instead of charging the normal -110 for these wagers, BetUS is effectively charging these players -140 – four times the usual bookmaker commission.

Players are advised to use caution following any tout that suggests you use a particular sportsbook. SBR has received many complaints over the years involving touts that gain the bettor's confidence before taking part in various sportsbook scams.

SBR has received three slow-pay complaints from GamblersPalace (SBR rating C) players. Each reports the sportsbook failing to pay on quoted dates and has not answered player questions regarding new payment dates.
Player: I have noticed in the forum that players are having issues with Gamblers Palace payouts. I would also like to make a note of my problem. Just before the Superbowl, they declined to take any more action from me. They “promised” that my funds would be returned to my Neteller account within 2 weeks. Nothing has happened – most recently they have asked if I will accept a bankwire, but nothing has come of that either. I have approximately $6,000 in my account there.

New bwin (SBR rating C) player reports canceled bet after win; bwin cites bet being placed three minutes after post time
Player: I have read about your follow-up in a case with a cancelled NBA wager with Bwin, and I am in a similar situation. On the third of march, I placed a wager on Jazz-Raptors for the 1st half total, at 17.33 CET. The ticket nr is 1PTBL1L5EX. The ticket should be a winner, but Bwin cancelled, claiming that it was placed too late, and the game had started at 17.30. But I know Pinnacle had this line open even two minutes after I placed the Bwin bet. I wrote to Bwin two times, complaining, but they wouldn't honour the wager. They actually first graded it as a winner, then they cancelled long after. I can't remember exactly how long, but no less than 6 hours, maybe more. I remember logging in to my account the day after the bet had been settled, and wondering about my balance. I checked my statement, and found that they had altered the ticket, changing it from a winner to a cancelled ticket. I hope you can help me in this case, as it seems you have been able to help another player in the same sort of situation.

On March 6th, eHorse, part of the LasPalmas Group (SBR rating C-),  states the player's withdrawal will be processed in two weeks. On March 16th, ehorse stated the player will not have his $40,000 withdrawal as he was initially told. The player is told payment will be delayed until "early April". eHorse concedes that the size of his winnings is playing a role in his place in the queue. Both SBR and the player have asked Las Palmas to show the player good faith and provide a partial withdrawal of the size other players are currently receiving. The player has offered to accept a roll-over following a transfer to Bookmaker.com (SBR rating A+). eHorse declined and alluded to sendng a "partial payment" early next month. The player continues  to ask for a portion of his funds  to be sent to Bookmaker or via bank wire now and asks for details about how much he will eventually receive and when.

03.17.2009 09:41 AM
bwin (SBR rating C) refuses to refund confiscated NBA wager winnings (3/12/09 report). During further discussion bwin changed its reason for canceling the bets from an "obvious line error" to leaving the game on the board after scheduled post time. bwin stated the player placed his wagers between one and five minutes after the game was scheduled to start. Canceling a winning wager after the game due to the fact that the sportsbook left the line up a few extra minutes is unacceptable. The practice allows the sportsbook to take wagers the player does not have a chance of winning. More importanly, SBR has shown bwin management that the game did not start until 8 minutes after the hour (NBA odds history) which is common in the NBA. bwin owes this player funds for his winning wager. The sportsbooks rating is currently under review. Players are encouraged to report all wager grading issues to SportsbookReview.com.

Bwin (SBR rating C) cancels player's winning wager; wrongly cites "obvious error" rule
SBR's NBA Odds history shows the line was not far from market value and shuold not have been canceled as an error. It is not uncommon for the sportsbook to make wagering and account errors. Poor customer service on the makes it extremely difficult for players to address bwin disputes. Bwin management routinely works with SBR when inquries are brought to their attention. The player's funds are expected to be returned to him.
On Sunday I placed a couple of bets on the NBA match between Orlando and Boston. I heard some news that Boston were resting Rondo and bwin were slow reacting to this news. The bets in bwin were on Orlando +4 and on the moneyline at 2.55. These odds and handicap had been the same all day long and most bookies had +4 or +3.5 orlando and I have bets in other bookies to prove it. By the time it started Orlando were still +2 so not vastly different from what i bet.
I noticed the next day that they had cancelled my wagers. They failed to send me an email telling me. When I enquired asking why they had voided my bets, I got some garbage about "an input error" along with a copy of their rules saying they are allowed to void such errors. This was no input error as they claim and was simply a standard move on team news that happens most days. I find their decision to void my bets grossly unfair.

A select few of the brands, namely D- rated BetOnUSA and Oddsmaker, are now more than deposit-only sportsbooks. Fiestabet confiscates players' winnings citing circumvented limits; downgraded from C to D+
Fiestabet has voided wagers placed in two accounts citing circumvented limits and claiming the two players wagered on many of the same plays at the same time. SBR has argued that the sportsbook should not have the opportunity to void wagers after the result. The sportsbook has no evidence suggesting the accounts are not operated by two valid account holders. SBR also stated that it is not uncommon for players to handicap games together or follow published plays, and the sportsbook is welcome to limit or close the accounts at any time. Fiestabet has also refused to pay the two players a split of the maximum wager allowed for one account. The complaint is not uncommon. GamblersPalace agrees to pay player for confiscated winnings of $117
The sportsbook agrees to pay $117, in addition to the $120 in winnings already collected by the player. The book kept a portion of the players winnings, which were not won with the bonus, when he cashed out. GamblersPalace acknowledges that its stated rules need to be changed in order to prohibit the withdrawing of winnings when the player chooses to take a payout before meeting the betting requirements. SBR has suggested different policies for this situation such as not allowing players to withdraw early, and prohibiting the withdrawal of funds actually won by the bonus.

Las Palmas Sportsbook Group (Horizon 20) states they are unable to pay large balance holders until the first week of March. Player vs. GameBookers (SBR rating B-)
Gamebookers lowered a players wagering limits. The player sends a profanity laced email in protest and requests a withdrawal of 851 Euros on 2/9/09. On 2/10/09 the player sends a new obscenity-filled email to the Gamebooker's cashier, calling them thieves and demanding his funds. Later that day the player is informed that his account is closed and funds have been seized per "management's decision." SBR is currently attempting to contact parent company Party Gaming management and will update this report.

Bet911 (SBR rating D-) states it will pay players, two who were owed since early 2007 and 2008. The sportsbook blames its payout issues on poor investments by its company and states it has recently been able to liquify assets. Bet911 also states it has already paid one player who was attempting to collect his funds through installments. SBR will monitor payouts and adjust Bet911's rating accordingly. Players who are owed are asked to contact SportsbookReview immediately.

GamblersPalace (SBR rating C) confiscates $117 player winnings
The player requested a withdrawal prior to meeting his bonus rollover. GamblersPalace rules state that if the player takes a payout before meeting the bonus terms and conditions the amount of the bonus will be deducted. GamblersPalace initially agreed to pay the player and reword its rules to reflect a deduction of the bonus and winnings from that bonus. The sportsbook later refused to pay the player.
Note: The player never had the bonus plus funds in play, meaning the bonus was not directly used to earn winnings.

DimeLine Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) agrees to pay all players for canceled Denver Nuggets wager. The book incorrectly applied a rule meant for changes in game date or venue to a Spurs player injury. DLS will remain under review as SBR speaks with management to verify that the sportsbook policy is to never cancel a wager unless there is an obvious human error with a posted line. All players who question a canceled bet are encouraged to write to Help@SportsbookReview.com.
Update 2/11/2009 6:18:18 PM
Dimeline Sportsbook confirms it will not cancel any wagers due to player injury on team sports or valid odds changes. Management also tells SBR it will clarify the vague rule that lead to the error by its staff. The rule should apply to the time and place of the event.

DimeLine Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) cancels bet "because of injury"
On February 3rd DimeLine Sportsbook canceled a wager on the Denver Nuggets -6 versus the San Antonio Spurs because of an injury report that caused the line to change. The spread jumped across all sportsbooks to as high as  -13. Dimeline customer service cited an error as reason for canceling the bet. The player rightfully argues that his bet was canceled unfairly. The bet was not void because it was placed on an erroneous line but because he had a good position on a play before information was known that would change the odds across the betting market. On 1/23/2009 SBR reported that a BetEd (SBR rating C+) player's winnings were removed from his account due to a deposit rule stating that the eCheck deposit must come from a checking account in the player's name. The player deposited using a checking account belonging to his father, who authorized the transaction. The policy is not unusual but  failing to prevent the deposit from being processed is. BetEd collected the deposit and cited the rule only after a winning run of nearly $7,000. In last month's report SBR asked if players had deposited in this matter, lost their funds, and not received a refund. One player claims this was the case years earlier, despite the rule being present on the website. Earliest archived rules pages show it was in print in late 2005. BetEd management also confirmed that the player's funds were at risk since the sportsbook does not audit deposits that are lost. SBR's position is that BetEd should pay the player due to the fact that his funds were in play without the possibility of a return on his investment. BetEd has refused to pay the player. SBR remains in communication with BetEd on the matter as well as other lesser complaints. BetEd was downgraded from B- to C+ on February 6th. | Dispute details and discussion

A player deposited at Betfred (SBR rating B-). He made wagers in an attempt to earn a freeplay. The player was awarded the £50 freeplay promotion and won £1000 as a result.
Bet £10 or more (excluding free bets) on your NEXT five bets (bets 2, 3 ,4 ,5 & 6) and you will receive an extra £50 free bet. Please note that all 5 individual bets must be £10 or more and placed on different selections in order to qualify for the second part of the free bet offer. Void bets do not qualify
BetFred then determined that the player did not qualify for the freeplay, because one of the player's prior bets was "non-qualifying" for the bonus. BetFred stated that the freeplay was awarded in error and that it overlooked that one of the wagers was the same as a wager already placed.  The sportsbook removed the freeplay winnings from the player's account and has refused to speak with SBR on the matter. The player had the funds available to make the same play on his own.

SBRlines.com showed the Pittsburgh Steelers favored by 6.5 to 7 since the line opened.  The line started at 7 at TheGreek (SBR rating A+) and Pinnacle (SBR rating A+), and was briefly available at 7.5 (-115) for Cardinal Backers at Bookmaker (SBR rating A+). Players monitoring SBRlines saw the majority of the sportsbooks dance between 6.5 and 7 over the last two weeks. Many Arizona Cardinal bettors are waiting until game day for a chance at a more appealing price on a +7. There are a few sportsbooks offering 7 now for those players looking to lock in on the half point with a slightly higher price tag. Watch live betting odds at SBRlines.com.

Numerous Sportingbet (SBR rating D+) complaints received
SBR has received 12 Sportingbet complaints from players showing that the sportsbook will not honor earned bonuses. Recipients of this promotion were targeted directly by Sportingbet. Sportingbet has told some of these players that they do not fit the profile of the player the book wants and will not receive their deposit incentive. Sportingbet-owned gaming site, Superbahis (SBR rating D+), has refused to honor its cashback poker program to a player owed 250 Euros. A Sportingbet horse bettor is owed a £100 horse wagering refund due to horse-falling promotion. Sportingbet has refused to credit the bonus citing "unusual betting patterns." Sportingbet players have also complained that the book has refused to grade soccer matches, citing an investigation of the outcome. SBR has confirmed that investigations by league governing bodies do not exist. Sportingbet rules support the players' claims that these wagers should have been graded months ago. Sportingbet is encouraging these bettors to allow the winning wagers to be graded as no-action so refunds can be applied. Sportingbet will not estimate when the wagers may be graded. The former owner of Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) is no longer responding to SBR's inquries on behalf of players.

WagerWeb (SBR rating C) continues to rough up veteran bettors
Last year SBR received multiple complaints from "sharp players" that the sportsbook was confiscating funds in the amount of free-play bonus losses, when deciding it no longer wants to take the players' wagers. In March of 2008 WagerWeb agreed not to confiscate cash in the amount of losing freeplays and refunded users for the debits. This month WagerWeb has declined service to a player, after giving him a reload freeplay bonus. The free-play was lost but WagerWeb reverted to old policy, telling the player he would have to pay it back from his cash balance. Since sharing his complaint on the SBR posting forum, WagerWeb has lessened the punishment to a debit of only part of the free-play amount. SBR will again insist that WagerWeb agrees not to arbitrarily charge players for taking part in promotions and request that this player be paid in full.

BetEd (SBR rating B-) player makes $6,931 mistake
The player made an eCheck deposit for $50 using a bank account owned by his father, who he lives with. In two weeks time the player turned the deposit into a balance of $6,931. After requesting a withdrawal for his winnings, BetEd reviewed the account and found the source of the deposit to be his father's checking account.
I looked at my account today and they have completely zeroed out all of my winnings, I went from having over $6900 and now I HAVE A $0 balance!!!! Their accounts mngr emailed me stating that my transactions were not valid and violated their terms and conditions. He stated that my email was invalid, which it's not, it's just not my primary email address. He also wrote, Per these clear and serious violations, your account has been closed and the deposit refunded to the actual bank account holder. Now I try to log in, and my account doesn't even exist!!!!!!! I earned that money, or won that money fair and square and if they would take the time to cooperate with me, and speak with myself and my parents, they would know that everything was authorized.
The player points out that the $50 eCheck deposit was accepted and eligible to be lost. Unlike eChecks, credit card purchases are normally declined if the name on the card is not identical to the name on the user account. BetEd cites rule 14 which states "For security purposes, your bank account information must match the information supplied during your initial registration."  If any players have made a deposit with a third party checking account, before subsequently losing their funds, they should be sure to contact BetEd for a refund. Players are reminded to read all rules carefully before depositing with a sportsbook. | Player discussion

TradeBetX assures the player they will process a new withdrawal after waiting 10 days for the check cancellation process. Following yesterday's report, three TradeSports users confirmed timely withdrawals. No new complaints have been received.

Players at scam sportsbook SportsbookUSA (SBR rating F) giving up on funds
Frustration has taken its toll on many players at Futurebet-owned SportsbookUSA. Although the sportbook continues to offer customer service for active players and bonuses for new players, it will not service players requesting funds. Customer Support simply apologizes saying they do not have a timeline for when money will be available. Futurebet is a business partner of BetOnUSA (SBR rating D-) and Oddsmaker (SBR rating D-). These sportsbooks should also be avoided at all costs.

Beware of Bet911 (SBR rating D-) offers
The slow-paying sportsbook is offering 30% cash bonuses along with other discount offerings such -105 reduced juice specials and free half point Tuesdays. Players should avoid all questionable and unproven sportsbooks, especially those marketing overly generous promotions this time of year. As football comes to a close many players will be requesting payouts and testing the financial strength of these sportsbooks. Many sportsbooks will market these offers irresponsibly, knowing that if the ball does not bounce in their favor, players will not be paid. Bet911 has already shown they can not fulfill payout requests of large winners.

Stryyke (not rated) clears delinquent payouts
Since SBR's initial report in November Stryyke has paid all nine players who have complained of payout delays. Delays ranged from one week to over a month. Player concern was high due to a lack of communication from the sportsbook and the withdrawals being requested through the book's main payout method, electronic transfer service, Moneybookers. Recent withdrawal reports from December suggest Strykke has improved over November. Stryyke blames being short-staffed in December for slow-payment, which did not exceed 10 days.

BetTrojan (SBR rating C) confiscates winnings, citing betting soft lines; later agrees to pay
BetTrojan emailed the player stating he was warned last Saturday, via an account log-in message, that if he bet on lines that were changing throughout the betting market but have yet to change at Trojan, (soft lines, also subjectively referred to as playing steam) his winnings would be void. The sportsbook claims the bettor continued to bet in this fashion before it retroactively deleted all account winnings.
Hello, The basic description of the story is that I was apparently warned around December 25th or 26th that I was "playing moves and if I continued my deposit would be returned to me." On December 27th, I was attempting to place a wager but could not because my account balance was $0. I looked at my account history and saw that my original deposit amout had been withdrawn back to me and, to my complete surprise, I noticed a deduction of $4,311.88 with the description: "ZERO OUT, PLAYED MOVES AND WAS WARNED HE WOULD RECEIVE HIS DEPOSIT AMOUNT AND CLOSED ACCOUNT." At the time, I was with them for only about a week and up a little more than $4,300
The player shared his complaint on the SBR forum before being offered half of his $4,311 winnings as a compromise. SBR has stated to the player and the sportsbook that anything less than payment of full winnings is blatant theft. Sportsbooks are welcome to limit and deny wagers to all players but cannot justly punish, fine, or confiscate funds from legitimate finalized betting contracts. The player wrote to SBR today saying the sportsbook has agreed to pay in full next week.  Failure to pay winnings combined with problems updating lines may be a warning sign regarding a book's overall health. SBR will update this dispute report next week or sooner if the bettor receives payment.

Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) to no-action if-win wagers on same game
A player complained that his $28,000 account was frozen after a payout request. Sportsbook.com was reviewing his wager history. The player explained that he made numerous if-win wagers on the same game giving him an unfair advantage. He and Sportsbook.com have agreed the best solution was to cancel all wagers made in that manner. Sportsbook.com states that all players who made if-win bets on the same game will have their wagers canceled and that balances will be adjusted this weekend. Players who made losing same-game if-win wagers should verify that they received a credit adjustment for those losses.
